Spaghetti Midwestern: A Community Gallery Installation by DUMPTRUCK
Просмотров 122Год назад
Spaghetti Midwestern was a cityscape installation from December 2022 that sought to remind the viewer of the types of skylines and highway memorabilia found in middle America. A site-specific installation in the Community Gallery in the new Creativity Center, the artists draped fibers on the wall to create city-like structures and rolling hills. The installation also included a lovingly rendere...

Contemporary Arts Center, ASL Tour of The Regional
What a great performance! It’s called a Wurlitzer Learning Station if I remember right… I had two of these units when I was a teenager. My parents donated them after I moved out! Wonder if this is one of them…
Aww, man, I'd be bummed. At least they got donated and not just thrown to rot in a dump
Oh yeah, and it's a Musitronic Organ Mks 470.
Why did the moderator say to delete the comment by the teacher?
How does this have so few views? It's amazing!
This was a wonderful interview. Thankyou to you both
"Appalud the poet..."

Mark is the superb definition of DIY. A great inspiration for young artists.
Will be looking to read more of Llewelynn Fletcher's essay and artwork... very touching excerpt. I was struck by the contrast of Jeff Whetstone's presentation: I'm glad the 'drawing' snake had been rescued and released, but did it need more stress? Seemed ironic to me. I'm not an academic, but you don't need to be, to LOVE AND RESPECT NATURE AND THE UNIVERSE and all they behold. There is no division. We are utterly connected. Where we do (and are able to) focus our attention, gives the illusion of partition. Boundaries are created and reinforced by the misconceptions using language creates. Words are symbols, limit all they name, are all concept not reality. People have been saying this stuff for years... Alan Watts was giving great lectures in the 1960's and early 70's about this..
Ugo Rondinone? Ugo Rondinone was supposed to tell about the time when he was a rent boy and how his career came about. Or how he, as a roommate in shared apartments, stole from those who only had the bare essentials. Time heals all crimes. Now he's a big angel! CORRECTION: art dealers vs. art making: A HORROR ENDORSEMENT from a notorious art dealer and her call for exploitation: "One has to be evil, downright evil!" quote Eva Presenhuber; We publish these embarrassing statements because we are not the only ones who have been closely following this worrying development in the art market for some time. Former director of Presenhuber gallery: “She’s the type of person who will finish your sentences for you, she won’t let you finish talking. Is there any clearer proof of hubris? Still, she feels very good about it. Eva Presenhuber is rather a special kind of person. I think the best word to describe her would be sociopath. Eva Presenhuber was repeatedly told that her abuse of these artists, who threatened Rondinone's supremacy in the gallery, would become public knowledge. Insiders know that Eva Presenhuber has destroyed important artistic careers on behalf of Rondinone in the past. In fact, at Rondinone's request, she eliminated potential competitors to the point of financially damaging herself; It is thanks to Rondinone's machinations that Pipilotti Rist and Urs Fischer changed galleries. There's no remorse, she wouldn't even know what you were talking about!" Eva Presenhuber is consistently referred to as the Harvey Weinstein of the art world. But with the fundamental difference that male artists do not go to the police, even if a gallery owner like Presenhuber maliciously harasses them. If anyone has information on where to find Markl, please let us know! Markl has disappeared, we don't know if he is still alive. The puppet master behind this extermination campaign is Ugo Rondinone. (Ex-husband of Eva Presenhuber). Markl is one of the most influential artists today. The way in which some of the most influential contemporary artists are exploited by their peers can be compared to the most brutal psychological abuse of any other pejorative relationship, surely one of the bloodiest lines of business in existence. Of course, carefully hidden behind the mask of the finest, most humane and most sensitive of all motives, namely art. You have the right to know such compromising facts so that you can use your powerful influence on existing and future collaborations to react accordingly with your inner moral compass.
Alison crosetta was my office manager at the foundation department at parsons school of design and she was a bully that made several visa students cry and storm out of her office. Miss Alison crosetta also told Ann Ledy and Sherryn Jiggets to cut my work study hours then to fire me making me homeless while at parsons school of design making my college experience very disappointing 😞

I love these compositions! Thoroughly enjoyed this.
When I saw the thumbnail, I thought it was MM at the podium with his head shaved...are their glasses the same frames?
They're not red hat's, they're Energy Accumulators !!!!!Sshhheesh 🙄
(N.N.B.B.M.+ H.) Not Necessarily Beautiful but Mutated....HEROISM
Yes! Yes! Yes! TURN IT LOOOOOSE! Woooooo hoooooooo! Duty 4 Now!
😆 "I'm doing ecstasy too." Not@ all what I thought his reaction/response would be, but loved it. I don't do drugs either....just unexpected & funny.
Ask him about Devo and cocaine in the 80s.
DEVO - The sound of things falling apart........So proud of our Hero.
We're ALLLLLL DEEEVOOOO!!!
why I love the devo so much since 1980? why?
Ladies 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾. Gifted you are amazing. Thank you for sharing this with me!!!
Thank you so much for your support! 💜
I love this❤
Gifted did her thing 👏
Thank you! This was an amazing experience with the all the ladies!! 💜
Seems to me Mark is unable to deal with emotion. He seemed at a loss at the teacher's comment.
Bird call calliope is interesting, Not quite in tune. Like steel drums. As the notes are pounded to tune the drum faces, G moves off as C is being tuned.
What a beautiful soul. Mark was genuine, kind, thoughtful and brilliant. A true genius.
What an amazing man.
He truly is! And Devo’s last album in 2010 was brilliant and some of the best material they ever put out, proving that you never really lose the ability to write good songs!! 👍🏻
I think Mark is poking fun at the pretentions of "serious composition" and high art by combining the sports uniforms, timer, etc. with the title suggesting classical or avant-gard music. The art world and the world of popular competitive athletics, both with their urgently serious activities -- both silly, both contingent cultural formations. Silly to suppose one is intrinsically elevated or refined above the other.
Dada, or rather "bulldada."
silly for SOME who are unable to detect what makes things objectively FINE.
Mark Mothersbaugh, Gerald Casale and Devo could do some great wry art about the artworld. The interview with Mark starts around 15:44.
i try to image Mark watching Topo Gigio on TV, that's brilliant!... Gigio is part of my childhood as well😂😂
Wonderful.
The sixty fingers of Dr. M
52:38 "Big Calligraphy" obfuscates Mark's brush pen exhibition. Alexandro Jones was right !!!
Mark’s message to the world: “De-evolution is real!”
I'm 62. ...what an effin' moron this teacher was... or the school, for that matter. I suffered similar circumstances with corporal punishment in the '60s, growing up in Florida... Irish immigrant nuns, straight off the boat. My blood boils when I hear these stories... and you couldn't complain about it because you were a kid and if you did, no one listened to you... you were just "wrong".
We must repeat
He looked remarkably as he did in the mid 80s. Some people are not very recognizable 30 years later. I almost expect him to take a bite from a banana and toss the rest over his shoulder lol
Just go to 15:45 min.
Thanks!!!
Is it just me, or does Mark's childhood sound kind of awesome?
His dad was General Boy. How could it not be?
Who needs loops when you have 6 players
Reminds me of pre covid19 era, everyone so snug as a bug in a rug. My how things have de-evolved since then. Mark was completely spot on. Genius.
If art is a reflection of culture then art is in a sorry state indeed. This "artist" has an MFA, BFA, she teaches, many awards and this is the art she produces, sorry but if you have to go on and on explaining what we need to know in order to appreciate your art then it's nothing but deception and not the truth.
hahaha from the thumbnail i thought mark had shaved his head.
That's what I thought as well
Are we not men?
we are DEVO
@@bbb462cid Are we not men?
we must repeat
Are we not pins?
Mark is such a lovely and interesting person. Thanks for a great interview,
And either he can't hear that crappy microphone or he's like me and needs one or two of those small hearing aids that have the tiny antennas in them, haa haa!
I want some of dat!
Thanks for the session. And thanks to the CAC for publishing it. It made me think about the negative space in life.
